1. Introduction
Welcome to “PartyScene: The People-Centric Event Platform,” operated by Scenes LLC. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, process, store, share, and protect your information when you use our mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).
Important: By using PartyScene, you consent to the data practices described in this policy. If you do not agree with these practices, please do not use our Services.
1.1 What this policy covers — and what it does not
This policy describes how we handle personal data. That is its entire scope. It is not a safety policy, a security guarantee, or a promise about the conduct of any person, host, venue, or event.
Nothing in this policy creates any duty, obligation, or standard of care on our part with respect to events, venues, hosts, attendees, or anything that happens offline. Where this policy describes a feature, tool, signal, review process, or verification step, it is describing a capability that exists — not committing us to use it, to use it in any particular case, or to achieve any particular result. Your rights and our responsibilities regarding use of the Services are governed by our Terms of Service, which contain important disclaimers, an assumption of risk, and limitations of liability.

3. Information We Collect
The categories below describe information we may collect. Not every category applies to every user, and availability of any given feature may change over time.
3.1 Account and Profile Information
- Registration Data: Email address, password (stored in hashed form), date of birth
- Profile Information: Display name, profile photo, interests
- Identity Verification Data: Where identity verification is offered or required, a government-issued ID and a selfie used for matching, processed by a third-party verification provider
- Social Connections: Friends list, in-app connections
About identity verification. Where offered, identity verification is an automated check performed by a third-party provider that attempts to match a submitted document to a submitted image at a single point in time. It is not a background check, a criminal-history check, a sex-offender registry search, a reference check, or any assessment of a person's character, intentions, or fitness. It can produce false results, can be defeated, and does not mean a person is safe, trustworthy, or who they claim to be. A verification badge or status is not an endorsement, recommendation, or guarantee by us of any kind, and should not be relied on as one.
3.2 Location Data
- Precise Location: GPS coordinates when you use location-based features and have granted permission
- Event Location Signals: Location readings used to associate content or check-ins with an event
- Location Preferences: Saved venues
Location readings depend on your device, your settings, and network conditions. They can be inaccurate, delayed, unavailable, or manipulated, and should not be relied on to confirm that any person is or is not at any place.
3.3 Event and Social Activity Data
- Event Interactions: RSVPs, attendance history
- Social Engagement: Friend activities, shared events, group interactions
- Content Creation: Photos, videos, posts
- Account Status Data: Verification status, reports received, enforcement history
3.4 Personalization and Automated Signals
- Event Preferences: Data used to surface events that may be relevant to you
- Social Recommendations: Suggestions based on your network connections
- Automated Content Signals: Automated systems that may flag content or accounts for possible review
Automated systems are limited and imperfect. They are not comprehensive, do not review all content, and may produce both false positives and false negatives. We do not represent that any content on the Services has been reviewed, screened, or approved.
3.5 Payment and Financial Information
- Payment Data: Card information, billing address, and transaction history, collected and processed by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers.
- Transaction Records: Payment confirmations, receipts, refund records
- Organizer Verification: Identity and business information required by our payment processor for organizers who receive funds
3.6 Device and Technical Information
- Information your device transmits automatically, such as app version, operating system, general device type, IP address, and basic interaction and diagnostic logs
3.7 Camera and Media Access
- Visual Content: Photos and videos captured through the app, with your permission
- Location-Associated Content: Certain content types are designed to be posted from an event location, using the location signals described in 3.2
3.8 Communication Data
- Customer Support: Support requests and related correspondence
- Marketing Communications: Email engagement and notification preferences
3.9 Third-Party Integration Data
- Connected Accounts: Information from linked accounts, such as Google, where you choose to connect them
4. How We Collect Information
- Directly from you: when you register, update your profile, post content, buy or sell tickets, or contact support
- Automatically: location data where enabled, app interactions, and technical information
- From third parties: Stripe (payments), Mapbox (mapping), identity verification providers, and infrastructure providers
5. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)
- Contractual necessity: account creation, event discovery, payments, support
- Legitimate interests: platform integrity, fraud reduction, service improvement, recommendations
- Consent: location features, optional marketing communications
- Legal compliance: age requirements, fraud prevention, regulatory and law-enforcement obligations
6. How We Use Your Information
- Core features: event discovery, social connections, location-associated posting, ticketing and entry
- Personalization: recommended events, content curation, connection suggestions
- Communication: notifications about events, connections, and account matters
- Operations: payment processing, analytics, customer support, legal compliance
- Platform integrity: investigating reports, addressing suspected violations of our Terms, and reducing fraud and abuse, in each case at our discretion
- Promotions: we may highlight events or offers inside the app. We do not sell your personal information to advertisers.
7. Automated Decision-Making
We use automated systems to rank and recommend events and to flag content or accounts for possible review. Where required by applicable law, you may request human review of, or object to, a decision produced solely by automated means that produces legal or similarly significant effects. Contact us at support@partyscene.app.
8. Data Sharing and Disclosure
- Service providers: Stripe (payments), Mapbox (mapping), cloud hosting and storage providers, identity verification providers
- Other users: profile information, RSVPs, and content you choose to share
- Event organizers: attendee and ticketing information for their own events
- Legal and safety: we may disclose information where we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law or legal process, or is appropriate to investigate suspected violations, protect our rights, or respond to a claimed emergency. We are not obligated to monitor for, detect, or act on any such circumstance.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this policy or a successor policy
9. International Data Transfers
Where personal data is transferred across borders, we use transfer mechanisms intended to provide an appropriate level of protection, such as Standard Contractual Clauses, together with technical measures including encryption in transit.
10. Data Retention
- Account data: retained while your account is active, and thereafter as needed for legal, accounting, dispute-resolution, and fraud-prevention purposes
- Content: generally removed from the Services on deletion; residual copies may persist in backups for a limited period
- Payments: Stripe and applicable financial-records rules may require retention for up to seven years
- Aggregated and de-identified data: may be retained indefinitely
11. Your Privacy Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and may opt out of marketing communications at any time.
- EU/UK users have rights under the GDPR, including data portability, objection, and withdrawal of consent
- California and other U.S. state residents have comparable rights under applicable state law, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them
To make a request, contact support@partyscene.app. We may need to verify your identity before acting, and some requests are subject to legal exceptions and retention obligations.
12. Age Restrictions
PartyScene is intended solely for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a person under 18, we will take steps to delete it and terminate the associated account.
Age is self-reported at registration. We do not represent or warrant that every user of the Services is over 18, and stating a minimum age requirement does not obligate us to verify the age of any user.
13. Data Security
We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal data against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, and unauthorized access or disclosure. These include encryption in transit and access controls.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot and do not guarantee that personal data will not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed, and we do not warrant that our safeguards will be sufficient in any given circumstance. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
14. Location Data
- Used for features such as showing nearby events and associating content with an event location
- You can disable location access in your device settings at any time; doing so may limit certain features
- We do not sell your location data
Location shared through the Services may be visible to other users depending on the feature and your settings. Consider carefully what you share and with whom.
15. Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies on our website for basic functionality and analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
16. Communications
- Essential: security alerts, account and transaction notices. These are part of the Services and cannot be opted out of while you hold an account.
- Optional: event reminders, offers, and surveys, with opt-out controls
17. Third-Party Services and Links
The Services may link to or interoperate with websites, applications, venues, and services we do not control, including payment processors, mapping providers, and organizer-operated pages. Their handling of your information is governed by their own policies, and we are not responsible for their practices, content, or acts.
18. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the most recent revision. Where required by applicable law, or where we otherwise consider it appropriate, we will provide notice through the Services or by email. Your continued use of the Services after an update takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
19. Governing Law and Disputes
Except where applicable data-protection law provides otherwise, this policy and any dispute arising out of it are governed by the laws of the State of New Mexico, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes relating to the Services are subject to the dispute resolution provisions of our Terms of Service, including any agreement to arbitrate and waiver of class proceedings set out there.
Nothing in this section limits any non-waivable right you have to lodge a complaint with a supervisory or data-protection authority in your jurisdiction.

21. Our Role: A Platform, Not an Organizer
PartyScene provides software that lets people create, discover, share, and buy tickets to events. We are not the organizer, promoter, host, producer, operator, owner, or occupier of any event or venue listed on the Services, we do not attend or supervise events, and we are not a party to any arrangement between a host and an attendee.
We do not screen, investigate, endorse, or vouch for any user, host, venue, or event, and we do not represent that any event is safe, legal, licensed, insured, accurately described, or suitable for you. Any reference in this policy to verification, reporting, moderation, location signals, or automated review describes optional and imperfect product capabilities, and is not a representation that we perform any screening or supervision.
Decisions about which events to attend, which people to meet, and what precautions to take are yours alone. See our Terms of Service for the assumption of risk, disclaimers, releases, and limitations of liability that apply to your use of the Services.
